U.S. researchers 'warned' deadly pneumonia caused by super-bugs are on the rise… and as these bacteria are opportunistic in nature they rapidly capitalize on those afflicted with H1N1 or other strains. Warning signs to be on the look out for… [They reported the pneumonia usually features high fever and low blood pressure with rapid progression to septic shock -- a widespread infection that sends the whole body into a tailspin -- and an urgent need for mechanical ventilation.] http://uk.reuters.com/article/idUKTRE54I7IF20090519 Take care, ladyk 15980

Scary... my 13 yr. old son had H1N1 - he developed a secondary lung infection, along with some other left-overs from the high fever. I guess we have been fortunate with the Dr. we see... he took the statement "we have MRSA in the house" very seriously with my son's treatment. He's fine and healthy now - the lung infection never progressed beyond the basics. Thank you for all the research you do and all the useful info. you post Ladyk :) 16001

I'm so glad to hear your son is doing fine now Shelly, and I'm equally impressed to see physician took serious note of MRSA in the house! It's always great to hear positive updates. You're welcome. Happy New Year to you and yours~ ladyk 16007

I visited the link Linda McCafferty posted in reply #2... read some of the responses below the article. I agreed strongly with #7. The basic idea behind the article is to take a daily supplement that stimulates your immune system to fight off anything (under developement). While experiencing H1N1 first hand with my teenager was frightening... the implications of an OTC medication that may lead to auto-immune diseases due to an over-active immune system frightens me even more. The theory is good, after all, many of us here use supplements to boost our immune systems; the scary part for me is the claims that are made in the article. Too good to be true?! 16021
