nasal swabbing

Hi, everyone,
My doctor said I needed to have three nasal swabs. So far, two have come back negative. One took several days to come back (over the Thanksgiving holiday), no problem. The other one, though, they called me the next morning. Not that I'm upset being negative, but doesn't it take longer than that to get accurate results? Or should I just trust the lab? I'm new at this, and am pretty paranoid. I thought I remembered reading that results took several days.
Thank you again for answering!

It used to be that the test for MRSA took 72 hours to grow cultures. They now have a test that will get results within 24 hours. It sounds to me like they used the second test to get your results.
